I returned to Nepal in 2009 to work on land reform issues and was lucky enough to enjoy three fabulous festivals in the few months that I was there: Holi, Shivaratri and New Year.

Sadhus: Nepal's Holy Men
Sadhus are Nepal's holy men, living intriguing ascetic lives. While I was working in Kathmandu I came to know some of the Sadhus who were staying at Pashupatinath, a sacred Hindu site.

I was here for four months and spent three and a half of those teaching in Yangshuo; the rest was a whirlwind tour of a few places in Yunnan, Guangxi, Sichuan, Hong Kong and Beijing.

These pictures are from an afternoon strolling around Bangkok where I stumbled across a Thai boxing competition and an outdoor play, both happening in the main square near the royal palace.

Tibet
Two weeks in Tibet. Due to constraints imposed by the Chinese authorities travel was limited to Lhasa and the immediate environs including Nam Tso lake. Trekking route: Ganden-Jar Tor La-Shiogala-Emalung-Samye.

I spent a month almost entirely alone in this incredible country, visiting Yangon, Bago, Golden Rock, Kalaw, Inle Lake, Bagan, Mandalay and the ancient cities around Mandalay.
